Our little guy headed off to his first day of preschool today! He has been excitedly waiting for this day for weeks now. He sprinted off into the classroom when I walked him in and barely turned around when I said goodbye. It was such a joy to see him soaring today. He practically bounced coming out to meet Andrew and I. Such precious memories of this special first day for him!

I pulled together a few of our favorites in a quick little guide! We used all of these as an integral part of our first day of school - so grateful for these tools! And for fun things like Lightning McQueen backpacks that spark joy for our little guy!

  1. BACKPACK

We grabbed another backpack from Pottery Barn Kids. We’ve had one from them for about 2 years for him and it still looks brand new despite daily use. So we picked up a slightly bigger one for school and it’s perfect. Alden loves Cars, and they have some really fun Disney options that were perfect. He’s been wearing this backpack around the house since it came in weeks ago because he loves it so much.

  2. THIEVES HAND SANITZER

This is the only hand sanitizer we ever use. I’m so picky about what goes on his skin and this is the only one I’m okay with as far as ingredients go. With the schools using extra hand sanitizer right now and requiring kids to use it multiple times per day, I needed to make sure that he went with his own, safe sanitizer to use!

  3. OWIE

Kids are always falling down and getting scraped, so i wanted to make sure that I sent this one with him! It has a rollertop on it and he knows where it is and how to use it if he needs to roll it onto his knee or elbow. I’m all about empowering him to take care of his own health!

  4. WATER BOTTLE

We grabbed another Contigo water bottle for him to have specifically for his backpack, because the number of times that I have forgotten to send a water bottle somewhere with him is high. Contigo bottles have held up well for us and they are only about $12-$15, so if he loses it or it goes home with another kid, we can grab a new one easily.

  5. GENEYUS

This oil is a powerhouse for focus and loving on the brain. A couple drops on his brain stem and crown before heading in this morning!

  6. FRANKINCENSE

All the calming vibes, yes please. Perfect for him, and I think his teachers will appreciate it if he doesn’t melt down since he’s missing nap time for this. A drop on his chest and some inhalation from the bottle before school!

  7. SANITIZER HOLDER

I picked up the CUTEST silicone sanitizer holders! They came in a pack of three with a raccoon, fox, and owl. They attach easily to the outside of his backpack so that he can access it quickly and easily on his own!

  8. VALOR

Our courage oil; our bravery oil - a couple drops on his wrists and crown for a little extra love he heads off on his own.

Such a special day for our little one! Any favorite/best tips for the first few months of school?? Please let me know in the comments here!
