easy diy harry potter wands

my mother in law had the super fun idea to make Harry Potter wands with Alden and his cousins! these are SO easy to make and incredibly cheap! all you need is chopsticks, hot glue, and paint! whether you’re throwing together a last minute costume or just want a fun craft with the kids, this is perfect!

STEP ONE: Grab your chopsticks and start adding hot glue to the thickest end. You can create whatever design you want with the hot glue, just know that you’re going to have to hold it and keep rotating it until it dries. When it is almost dry, it will be slightly moldable, so you can manually shape it a bit with your fingers. Hot glue layers very well, so once one layer is almost dry, you can add another and build upon it to really shape your want.

There are truly endless options! You can try to recreate a wand from the movies (the elderwand is so easy to make!), or create a custom wand!

STEP TWO: paint! I just grabbed some cheap acrylic paint from the store and started painting the wands. I should have grabbed black to mix in with the brown for a really dark color, but they still turned out fun!

STEP THREE: let dry and have fun with them!
