best reads of 2022
I read well over 100 books this year, and narrowed down a few of my favorites from what I read in 2022!
The Lost Ticket by Freya Sampson Shop Amazon | Shop Target
This book was lovely. Truly just so heartwarming and feel-good. It was delightful in all of the best ways.

If you have neighbors…if you live in town…if you know anyone at all - this is a must read. So timely and poignant and an absolute must read for everyone.
One Night on the Island by Josie Silver Shop Amazon | Shop Target
This book…so good. I would highly recommend! A remote European Island, mistakes and miscommunications, the cutest little island community…such a fun setting for a light romance!
Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan Shop Amazon | Shop Target
This book just felt good. I laughed and cried through it. I feel like this was definitely an underrated book of 2022 - I thought it was so good!
Book Lovers by Emily Henry Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I loved this one. So, so good! I had heard that it wasn’t as good as her other books, but I do not agree. I absolutely fell in love with the characters. It is super well written and multiple lines made me burst out laughing (which almost never happens when I’m reading). I felt all the emotions with this one and genuinely just loved all of it.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I picked this one up in 2021 and couldn’t get into it. I tried it again this year and flew through it. I loved it. The story didn’t go where I thought that it would at all - so many surprised. I wouldn’t say that I loved the story itself as much as I loved the writing and the depth of the characters. Taylor is truly a master at making you feel like you are so deeply, personally intertwined with the characters. I love the way that she writes. I love the way her characters could be any one of us - they re so real. Very, very well done.
Every Summer After by Carley Fortune Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I devoured this one in one sitting. I’m with Emily Henry on this one - truly a radiant triumph of a debut. it reminded me of Love and Other Words in a lot of ways. Very well done. I definitely cried during it, but it was so beautiful.
Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortland Shop Amazon | Shop Target
This book ministered right to my soul this year. I would absolutely recommend this one to anyone, particularly anyone who is feeling disenchanted with God or the Church. It was so beautiful and was such a gift to my heart to read this this year.
People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I loved this one so much! It was delightfully told between present day and 12 years ago. It wasn’t a rom com in the way that I expected it to be because it wasn’t a funny book,, but it was heartfelt and I felt so many emotions during it. It is a book where you are cheering for the characters the whole way through. I would definitely recommend for a delightful read.
It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I preordered this book the day that I heard about it. It was my most anticipated book of the year by far. I read It Ends with Us almost three years ago and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. That book is forever a top five book for me - and It Starts with Us is up there with it now. So beautifully written. So incredibly well done. It felt like it gave the story everything that I didn’t even know that I needed. I absolutely loved it.
The Layover by Lacie Waldon Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I flew through this book! It was light and fun and a perfect weekend read. I would highly recommend for a fun read!
A Court of Thrones and Roses by Sarah J Maas Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I am not normally a fantasy reader, but this one was so highly recommended to me by so many people that I picked it up. I did not expect to really like it, but I actually loved it! There are definitely some spicy scenes (not YA at all), but those are pretty easy to skip if you want. I absolutely loved the characters - obsessed with Rhysand and Feyre.
You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle Shop Amazon | Shop Target
I absolutely loved this one! It made me laugh and it made me cry. I was halfway through it before I realized that I had read it before and had forgotten. That was a first. But it was good enough that I read it all the way through again. So fun and I am obsessed with the characters!
Would You Rather by Allison Ashley Shop Amazon | Shop Target
This one is so fun and cute! It was definitely a light read in the best way. I love a good marriage of convenience turned love story - so fun! (also love Roomies by Christina Lauren and The Prenup as similar stories) Just a fun, feel good, light read!
What did you read this year? What stuck with you? Please put them in the comments - I want to add some of them to my list for 2023!
